Jean Renoir Interview

I've only watched a couple of his films, and both were a tad overrated. Still, here is a guy who puts art before self, and the contrast to the interviews with Fassbinder and Wenders (below) is clear. Parts 1 and 2:

The clip below is from the horrid documentary by Wim Wenders, Lightning Over Water, and he is another guy I just do't get the fuss over.

His stuff isn't so obviously bad as Fassbinder's, but how could anyone compare these two guys to Werner Herzog?
